Text Box: J. Scott Roberts entered the transportation industry in 1998 after serving as a County Police Officer in Virginia.  He has held positions with both private fleets and for-hire/dedicated carriers.  Scott has held positions as a Division Operations Manager, Special Projects Manager, Facility Operations Manager and Regional Operations Manager, prior to focusing on safety as a specialty.  Now the Director of Safety with Joseph Cory Holdings LLC; Scott has a national responsibility for over 60 locations and over 500 drivers.   Scott is a member of the National Private Truck Council (NPTC), where he earned a Certified Transportation Professional (CTP) designation and is an active member of the Safety Committee and Best Practices Sub-Committee.  Additionally, Scott also attended the North American Transportation Management Institute (NATMI) sponsored by the American Trucking Association (ATA) where he earned the Certified Director of Safety (CDS) designation.  In 2009 Scott presented as the lead panelist for an NPTC & JJ Keller and Associates web cast on Accident Management.
